Maggie E Drury - Reflexologist in Hall Green and South East Birmingham

Hello, my name is Maggie and I would like to welcome you to Med Reflexology, based here in Hall Green, South East Birmingham.

What a lovely sunny summer we have had! I hope you have been able to enjoy the long, warm evenings. Moving into autumn/winter can be a difficult time for some and the weather becoming chilly doesn't help. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) can have a real impact on a person's ability to function in the darker days and you just have to Google the condition to find out more details and the extensive research into the signs and symptoms. Reflexology is a truly wonderful complementary therapy which is enjoyed and highly regarded by many people of all ages who find it beneficial for a whole variety of reasons, including SAD and those listed below. Treatments are tremendously relaxing, thereby alleviating stress, anxiety and sleep problems common in today's busy world.

Firstly, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have worked for 20 years within the NHS and have enjoyed building relationships with clients from the age of 2 to 104 who have had a range of medical conditions. I feel very fortunate to have been able to offer help to people with Learning Disabilities (both children and adults), Autism, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and Stroke. Since 2003 I have worked with people who have various forms of Dementia, their carers and people nearing the end of their lives.

I became interested in Reflexology following the amazing treatments that I had myself and from reading around the history of this wonderful complementary alternative therapy. My interest was such that I decided to train and I am now a qualified Clinical Reflexologist having gained a Level 5 Diploma in Clinical Reflexology, from the Contemporary Reflexology College under the tuition of Allison Walker. This is the highest qualification available to become a Reflexologist in the UK and as I am registered with the Association of Reflexologists and Professional Reflexology , you can be assured that I adhere to strict professional guidelines to ensure a quality service at all times.

Based in Hall GreenSouth East Birmingham, I am delighted to be able to offer additional, specialist reflexology treatments in the following:

  • Enhancing Fertility and Maternity Care
  • Adapting Reflexology for Palliative Care
  • NEPIP (NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody). This is a wonderfully relaxing reflexology treatment which focuses on the intricate relationship between our mind and the systems of our body
  • Meridian Reflexology
  • Auricular Reflexology. This refers to reflexology treatments on the ears which can be useful in the treatment of pain and mobility.

I am also trained in the care of the person with cancer and am fully aware of the associated psychological, emotional and physical pain experienced by people undergoing or recovering from the effects of chemotherapy/radiotherapy. My reflexology treatments will ensure that the person's needs at a fragile time such as this are wholly catered for. As reflexology on the feet is not always possible or tolerated due to neuropathy or sensitivity, I can offer hand and auricular (as mentioned above) reflexology treatments, as preferred. I am also happy to offer a mobile reflexology service if illness or reduced mobility prevents travel.

As a qualified Clinical Reflexologist I feel that I am able to build upon my background in care to offer a truly nurturing and beneficial experience especially for you. Our bodies are wonderful and amazing with the ability to cope with intense and immense pressure, pain (either emotional or physical), stress and anxiety which are all prevalent in today's society but sometimes we require a little bit of help to re-balance. I truly believe that reflexology can achieve this by promoting the body's own healing. Stress has been linked to many illnesses and on an everyday basis can affect a person's ability to sleep. Most people experiencing sleep problems report sleeping incredibly well following reflexology treatments and wake feeling calm, refreshed and rejuvenated.

Please take a couple of moments to look at my website and learn about the wonderful benefits of reflexology and what it can do for you. I invite you to read the feedback that I was delighted to receive from just a few of my satisfied clients in my Guestbook section.

You will also see reports on my research page of people who report feeling the benefit of reflexology linked to fertility, pregnancy, maternity and pain problems alongside the acquired neurological conditions mentioned above.

Treatments cost £40 per session and last approximately one hour during which time your individual needs will be discussed and the 'hands on ' treatment will be tailored to work on those specific needs. Please click on the typical session tab which will give you more information about what my treatments involve and special offers. Many people also ask "How can reflexology help me?" and although everyone has their own unique and personal experience, the research page provides a small sample from the breadth of research articles available that you may like to look at.

If you would like to arrange a session you are more than welcome to visit me in Hall Green, Birmingham. I can also offer a mobile reflexology service for the surrounding areas of South East Birmingham e.g. Shirley and further e.g. Solihull, Dickens Heath, where you can relax in the comfort of your own home if you would prefer or have transport/mobility issues. If you have any questions at all or would like to make an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact me by telephone or email or by clicking the links to the right.

    Thank you.
